World Vocabulary

Vocabulary from Latin & Greek Roots, IV – Vocabulary Squares are provided to help you learn the vocabulary words by writing the definition, using the word in a sentence and practicing different kinds of sentences.  Vocabulary Squares are due the day of the quiz (by 4PM).  You may turn in VoSqs late and lose 10% per day down to 60%.  The day of the 20 Word Review Quiz will be the last day late Vocab Squares for that unit will be accepted.  For example, the 20 Word Review Quiz for Lessons 7 & 8 was on Wednesday, December 6 and that was the last day to turn in late vocabulary squares for lessons 7 and 8. 

Third Quarter, 2018

  • L-11 “fid, fall, cred, dub” – Quiz on Wednesday, January 17, 2018
    • Write 10 sentences OR a Crazy Story
    • No three word sentences!  Compose a sentence that shows the meaning of the word.

 

 

First Semester 2017:

  • L-10 “crimin, culp, onus, prob” – Quiz on Wednesday, Dec. 20 – this is our final test and vocabulary for 2017
    • Write a crazy story or 10 sentences
    • No three word sentences
  • L-9 Quiz “tort, volv, flex, vert” on Wednesday, Dec. 13
    • Write a crazy story or 10 sentences
  • 20 Word Review – lessons 7 & 8 on Wednesday, Dec. 6
  • L-8 “plac, grat, doc, temp” – Quiz on Wednesday, Nov 29
    • Write 10 sentences or a Crazy Story
    • No three word sentences!
  • L-7 “fac, pon, struct, stit” – Quiz on Tuesday, Nov 21
    • Write 10 sentences or a Crazy Story
    • Must include two compound (cpd) and two complex (cpx) sentences
    • No three word sentences!
  • 20 Word Review 5 + 6 – Quiz on Wednesday, Nov 15
    • *NOTE this is the last day late Vocab Squares for lessons 5 and 6 can be turned in for partial credit
    • Kahoot – all 20 words
  • L-6 “her, fus, solu, leg” – Quiz on Wednesday, Nov 8
    • Write 10 sentences or a Crazy Story

First Quarter:

    • Adding compound and complex sentences would be great, too!
    • No three word sentences!  NOT:  Bob is deference.  BETTER:  Although Bob shows deference to his boss, he also studied computer science and can fix most programming issues.
