Poetry Out Loud

Find a poem here:  http://www.poetryoutloud.org/

How to choose a poem?  Check out the Find Poem link to Poetic Forms and Terms.  I find that I have a fancy for alliteration. I also like poems that rhyme (couplets, rhymed stanzas, sonnets).  This section has information about each form and a definition for the term.  Take your time, but use the time to browse and find a poem.  You will be spending some quality time with this poem and I encourage to find one that you like.

  1. Write your poem by hand; handwritten poems due Friday, January 8 by 3:30PM
  2. Print or type two copies of your poem (one you will use for analysis and one will be used by the judges during your recitation)
  3. Memorize your poem
